SIZE YANGE is a body positivity project that was born in 2016 as a defiance to society’s policing of people’s bodies. SIZE YANGE is a movement aimed at encouraging persons of different body sizes and shapes to love and appreciate the bodies they are in. The movement explores the role of the body, and body dysmorphia on mental health especially in women in their different diversities.
Our society is vividly the number one lead towards setting how discriminating lifestyles ought to be, this is through setting lifestyle standards through status quo, narrative conception, acceptable livelihood, body types, behavior tendencies, beliefs and norms, to mention but a few. This is vividly seen in the education systems, employment systems, lifestyles, acceptance, income generation, social circles, livelihood mechanisms, health, etc.
SIZE YANGE is here to dismantle the myth of a certain body type and remind all of the reality of diversity. When we look deep into ourselves amidst others, there’s a vivid presentation of uniqueness in types, preferences, desires, and functionality which applies to our bodies heavily. We are focusing on undressing the supposed and embracing it in Her individuality, diversity, and variety through expression in photography and poetry.
